Sometimes we are blessed with gifts from nature when we least expect it. One morning I had just sat down to enjoy the quiet on the back deck when I noticed the commotion next door. Holy cow! It was a momma sea turtle stuck in the dunes and she was heading in the wrong direction (away from the water). Fortunately, there was a woman from the Turtle Watch committee who knew exactly how to right her course without disturbing her day. I jumped up, retrieved my camera, and headed towards the action. I kept my distance knowing that we are not supposed to disturb the turtles during nesting season. As I quietly observed, the woman waved me in and told me I could take some pics as long as I did not use a flash and did not get in "her" path back to the water.
What a joy! I snapped her every movement all the way from the dunes until she disappeared back into the water where she belongs. I was walking on air for the rest of the day thinking how blessed I am to have captured such an event on camera.
